Visiting Lafayette County

Welcome to the land of history and adventure! Located in the Southwestern corner of Wisconsin, about an hour’s drive from the State Capital of Madison, Lafayette County lies in a region known as an unglaciated area — which means that it was virtually untouched by Ice Age glaciers.

Rolling hills and picture-perfect vistas can be found throughout the County whether you’re exploring on foot, by canoe or kayak, by mountain bike or car, on horseback or ATV, or behind the wheel of a golf cart.

Come for a weekend getaway, or stay for a week or two and enjoy life at a slower pace in our charming cities, towns, and villages.
